I have often heard my friends saying, “7 day diet plan! what’s that?”. College life comprises of loads of work, lots of stress, showers of pain, days of happiness, tonnes of sacrifices and yes to not forget lots and lots of food ;). And not to forget most of it coming from unreliable(unknown) and nasty places, i.e. Fast Food. Some of it comes from our very own canteens (mostly yucky!!) & then some from a few famous bars, lounges and even cafes (mostly when the month starts).

7 day diet plan

We don’t actually think about it as we are always on a leash to finish projects, meet deadlines, prepping for seminars & fests, going for unplanned parties and hanging out with friends & and then its exams and internals. With all this going on in our lives we tend to forget the pace at which time flies. 

“You are what you eat, so don’t be fast, cheap, easy, or fake.”

Adverse effects of not having a 7 day diet plan

The realization dawns upon when we get shockers of weight loss, fatigue,  depression and for girls, it is PCOD and PCOS that comes as a warning signal. Going through all this sooner or later we come to a frightening realization that we have bulked and messed up big time! The only thought that keeps coming to us is,

“What in the world did we eat to get here?”

Junk food always affects our health, our weight, and our skin as well. But as our elders have this very famous takiya kalam for us :

“Hum to dheenth hain hum thodi na kisi ki sunenge”

After a lot of criticism and self-realisation, we come to a conclusion for maintaining our diet and improving our eating habits. But as is life, we soon end up being confused on what to eat, what not to eat, what things I should totally avoid from now on. It’s always like walking on a dark road with your blindfolds on.

So, to save you from all of this confusion and fear of being in a worse situation than you are in now, I am enlightening you with the best 7 day diet plan to follow. So here you go:

1. Veggie Monday to begin with

Raw Vegetables are considered to be the most fibrous food for dieting. More is your fiber intake happier will your body be, as fiber helps to remove fat and helps in cleansing your intestines.

You must have read some magazines, featuring BEBO i.e. Kareena Kapoor Khan, where she writes about her zero figure and how she maintains her body which is all because of a bowl of fibrous fruits and vegetables she takes on a daily basis.

So, it’s up to you how you consider it, EITHER AS A MONDAY MOTIVATION FOR YOUR 1ST DAY OF DIETING or A GOOD START TO YOUR WEEK.

Key things to remember:

  1.  HAVE AT LEAST 10 GLASSES OF WATER.
  2. A FULL BOWL OF RAW VEGETABLES, SPRINKLED WITH BLACK PEPPER AND SALT.

Here’s how you can prepare a good vegetable salad:

Few suggestions that you can consider:

  • If you feel hungry and tempted for Junk food then prefer going for your next meal. Simply avoid Junk food for 7 days.
  • Your next meal should have 2 chapattis and a bowl of cooked vegetables
  • Vegetables are a rich source of Nutrients and Vitamins too which helps to keep diseases away and boosts your immunity
  • Veggies are low on fats (extremely low)
  • Make your bowl as colorful as you can
  • Experiment with different vegetables

2. Fruity Tuesday to go ahead with

To flush fat from the body, you’ll need to release the toxins. A fruit diet will help you detoxify the body as it speeds up the healing process and aids in weight loss. Include a lot of citrus fruits, apples, pears, oranges, and watermelon in your diet.

Benefits of a Fruitarian diet:

Few suggestions that you can consider:

  • 2 apples and pomegranate to start your day with
  • At the end of the day, you should have consumed 4 apples, 4 oranges, a watermelon and 2 pomegranates
  • Make sure you don’t end up having fruit juices
  • Drink at least 10 glasses of water

3. Fruitable Wednesday to continue with

You can eat as many fruits and vegetables as you want. But remember the golden rule to not to use the butter and oil in it. 

Few suggestions that you can consider:

  • Remember to drink at least 10-12 glasses of water.
  • Plan smaller meals with fruits & vegetables taking turns.
  • End your day with fruit & vegetable chaat.

4. Tanana Banana Thursday

Eat 10 Bananas, drink 3 glasses of milk and consume 1 bowl of diet soup on the whole day. This diet plan can be considered a little tough because one has to eat only small amounts of food at a time.

Here’s how you can make diet soup at home:

Few suggestions that you can consider:

  • Avoid Buttermilk during your diet plans

  • Have at least 12 glasses of water per day.

  • You Can even break this up into smaller meals as well.

5. Feast Friday

Until now you must have been dealing with a really harsh time but at the same time, you must have felt a change inside of you. A positive change in your health and in your mood except for the cravings that are there.

I know it’s hard but you need to keep the 7 day diet plan ON. Today you will go for a full plate of salad with one bowl of daal and one chapati. 

Note that daal should be boiled only with fewer spices and chapati and should not have ghee over it.

6. Semi Final Saturday

7 day diet planOne is allowed to eat a small bowl of boiled brown rice with vegetables. Again, you must not use any type of oil, butter or cheese. You can also eat one bowl of salad, one bowlful of soup and drink a glass of buttermilk for the day. ALSO, NOTE THAT YOU MUST DRINK 10 GLASSES OF WATER.

 

7. Sunday The Grand Finale

Today’s diet plan is a mixture of fruits, vegetables, a small bowl of boiled brown rice and a small cup of dal. you can also consume one bowl of salad and one glass of buttermilk with brown rice and dal.

You can also drink a glass of fresh fruit juice (grape or orange) and a bowlful of diet soup, during the course of the day. And to set the record straight you can also gorge on a meal of your choice.

Let’s call this day cheat meal day just to keep the cravings in check and not to tire you out completely from this routine.

Now to maintain your diet, you must include carbohydrates (55%), fats (25%), proteins (20%) and 5% of other important minerals and fibers. In the end, it’s all about ki hum apney aapko kaisey manage kartey hai, Right?
