Delhi College of Art: Established in1942 for advanced training in Visual Art, Delhi College of Art is an institution that offers the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Delhi. This in return is backed by the Master’s Degree in:

- Art History
- Visual Communication
The syllabus includes studio practicals, prescribed theoretical subjects, and research in the above-mentioned fields. The College is under the guidance of the Faculty of Music & Fine Art, and all academic matters are wholly administrated by the Government of NCT of Delhi.
Eligibility Criteria: Delhi College of Art
Similar to all the other Delhi University colleges, the Delhi college of art has a set of basic eligibility criteria. The only addition to the eligibility list is the ENTRANCE EXAM here.
- A candidate must pass 10+2 (all subjects) from CBSE or any equivalent board.
- The candidate requires a minimum of 50% (total of 5 subjects) to be eligible to apply for the admission.
- Concession of 5% marks will be allowed to the candidates –
(a) who have taken Graphic Design, Drawing, Painting, Sculpture or Applied Art as one of the subjects in their qualifying examination,
(b) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/OBC Candidates,
(c) Widows and/or children of Armed Personnel/Para-Military Forces or, (d) PwD Candidates,
(e) Forwards of Kashmiri Migrants
- An entrance exam will be conducted for the candidates including object drawing, General Knowledge and composition.
- On the basis of this exam, an applicant will be selected or rejected.

1. Entrance Exam is a Must
There is an aptitude test which is conducted for the selection criteria. It includes drawing skills and art history. Make sure you are PRO at it.

The Library of the College is accommodated in an area of 241.38 sq. m. It has an extensive collection of approximately 17500 books on Fine Art, Applied Art, History of Art, Aesthetics, Methods & Materials, Sanskrit, Visual communication Fiction in languages like English, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, etc. It also provides leading newspapers in English and Hindi, a vast collection of Encyclopedias and Periodicals (National and from abroad). The Library Reading Room is open for the use of all staff and students of the college on all working days. All the students are eligible to become members of the lending section of the library and avail of its facilities according to the prescribed rules. The annual budget for the library is Rs. 4 lakhs.

4. Creating Masters
The objective of the Specialization Course in Painting is to provide the student with training in the skills for original and creative visual expression. It is planned with the conviction that technical competence provides the most satisfactory foundation for this experience. It is intended that the students are exposed to all schools, traditions, techniques, and media of painting practiced from the early to the modern times.
The Course seeks to cultivate an individual personality and a professional responsibility in the students. Composition with emphasis on the creative process from the concept to the finished artwork and subsidiary subjects of Printmaking, Mural, and Weaving as practical subjects, and Aesthetics, History of Art and Method & Materials as theory papers are studied over the three years of this specialization.

ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL STUDY TOUR 2017-18
Annual Educational Study Tour 2017-18 was organized by the college from 31st January 2018 to 13th February 2018 for the BFA (3rd Year) students. A group of 109 students was accompanied by Dr. Kumar Jigeeshu, Mrs. Sangeeta Kaushik, Mrs. Archana Sharma, Sh. Pradeep Kumar and Sh. Sachin Kumar. The motive of the tour was to visit the sites of historical – artistic importance and wonders created by man himself in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
6. Regular Interactive Sessions
No matter what background people are from or what kind of knowledge about the art they have, most of the contemporary artworks are created in a way, wherein they allow everyone to build their own opinions. Students get to know more about the artwork by being a part of interactive sessions with contemporary artists so that they can explore more as an artist.
7. Frequently conducted Workshops and seminars are also conducted
Department of Applied Art has conducted the ‘Nikon India’ workshop of photography in the photography section of the department on 15th February 2018 for the students of MFA and BFA, and faculty of Applied Art Department participated in this workshop. The workshop benefitted the students on academical as well as professional fonts. Students learned the usage of the professional functions of the latest digital cameras and its usage in the area of Fashion, Nature, Product, Portrait and Wildlife Photography.
8. Extra-Curricular Activities
The College provides facilities for a sport such as Table Tennis, Badminton, Volley Ball, Basket Ball, yoga along with amenities of fully equipped Gymnasium. Inter-class tournaments are held annually and students also participate in Inter-college tournaments organized by the University of Delhi. The Sports Day of the College is held during the Third Term of the academic session in the month of February, mostly at the Karnail Singh stadium in New Delhi that is booked well in advance for the purpose.

10. The most awaited fest
The fest of Delhi College of arts is ‘AMBROSIA’. This is conducted by ‘the student union’ of the college. Exhibitions are also conducted to showcase their talent and learn more from the masterpieces of others.
