Delhi University Admissions, New Delhi: Delhi University is said to be very prompt in its administrative decisions. Until this time, when it has delayed its decision making and in fact, became expensive in terms of applying for admissions.
There seems to be an obstruction in the commencement of the University of Delhi undergraduate admission process. For Delhi University admissions, one will have to lose pockets to apply for all the bachelors’ or Ph.D. courses in the academic year 2019-20. The reason for this is that the admission committee had proposed to make a hike in the application fee at each level. This time for the general and OBC category candidates in the undergraduate courses will have to pay Rs. 250 instead of Rs. 150.
In the case of SC-ST, EDUs, and PWD, the fee for application will be increased to Rs. 100 instead of Rs. 75.
At the same time, the application fee for the general and OBC category is being raised from Rs. 500/- to Rs. 750/- in an admission-based graduate course. Application fee of SC / ST, EWS, and PWD category is being raised from Rs. 250/- to Rs. 300/-. Apart from this, the application fee is also increasing for the postgraduate courses. Normal and OBC category candidates in postgraduate and M.Phil – Ph.D. courses may be required to pay Rs. 750/- instead of Rs. 500/- as application fee. In these courses, SC / ST, EWS and PWD application fees are being raised from Rs 250/- to Rs 300/-.
The application process of Delhi University, for its undergraduate courses, which was expected to start from May 20, has to be postponed yet again.
In the very beginning, it was decided that the application process should begin from May starting. But since the board exams had recently got done with, there was a lack of time for the students to prepare for entrance exams and the postponement was apparent. The application forms were expected to be made available by May 20th. However, there is a further postponement. Now the forms will be out on the 24th of May. The decision has been taken considering the date of the Lok Sabha Election results, which are to be announced on the 23rd of May.
Professor Rajeev Gupta on Saturday said, “they won’t release the forms before Thursday due to the results of the Lok Sabha elections, which will be announced on May 23”.
The enlistment charge is probably going to increase from Rs 150/- to Rs 250/- while every first revision in the structure will cost an amount of Rs 100/- hopefully.
