DU Admission Updates 2019: The previous year’s rule allowed the students to apply for BA(H) Economics even if they had 50 percent in Mathematics. This year, Delhi University has come up with a huge change where the toughest subject for almost every student that is ‘Mathematics’ is to be one out the “Best of Four”. It has been made mandatory for mathematics to be included in the aggregate of top 4 subjects.
DU Admissions 2019: Parents’ Reaction
Many parents got angry and raised up their voices on the First Open Day . They all were putting questions on why Mathematics has been made the compulsory subject of the Best of four subjects. The officials and the counselors who were present in the Open Day to provide guidance to the students and their parents started flooding them with questions and queries.
One of the parents questioned the admission official that,
“Why this rule has been laid for the students of this year? Why was it not brought out last year. Why this year?”
The Admission officials and the Student Counsellor announced that,
“The BEST OF FOUR will include one language subject + Mathematics+ other two elective subjects will be the included in the best four. The student will also have to undergo a deduction of one percent in his aggregate percentage due to not having Economics in his Best of Four.”
This happens when a student is not having Economics in his Best four but he wants to apply for BA(H) Economics.
The Admission Bulletin provided by the Officials that was to be read by the students and the parents before coming to the Open day and put up their queries contained all the details regarding the change in the rule. All the essential details (including DU Admission Updates 2019) regarding the Compulsion of Mathematics in the Best of Four subjects and a lot more required dates in the bulletin itself.
It has been declared that the Online Registration began on 30 May along with a deadline of the Online Portal to end up with the Registrations on 14 June . The cut offs will be out by :
|4th||Around 4-5 July|
|5th||Around 4-5 Jul|
A student who is currently a DU aspirant she also added,
“They have provided us with the handouts about the Eligibility criterion for various courses but I still have queries, I want to pursue B.Sc Home Science but I have done my 12th Class in Humanities. I don’t know wether I will have to undergo a deduction in the aggregate if I apply” Which was already told that If the student fails to meet the mandatory criteria, there is no other other way out.
