DU BA Exam 2019: The first year students of Delhi university have claimed that on 24th May, 2019 in BA programme examination, two of the questions were out of syllabus in the English Discipline Paper. The marks allotted to both the questions were 10 each. Just like all the other university level question papers, this too had options in the questions that were to be attempted but the options were between the out of syllabus questions and the least expected questions. Hence the students expected the university to change the questions that were out of syllabus.
When the faculty was informed about the issue, they asked the students not to call them, instead, go to the university if they can spare some grace marks for the students; they said,
“Go and ask university for grace marks”
While in the examination hall, the invigilator in one of the colleges exclaimed,
“Attempt the questions, you will get full marks even if you write one line”.
After listening to the invigilator, the students tried to understand the questions but the questions were a prose from a poetry so the students could not attempt them.
“We were left in complete confusion after we saw the questions, trying to judge which poetry was that”
said a maitreyi college student.
Being such a prestigious university of India, this sort of mistakes are not expected for the University of Delhi.
Signing a petition for lenient marking, the students demanded that they should be given genuine marks for the ‘out of syllabus’ questions. The students are now waiting for university’s reply to this and the results hoping for good checking .
