DU Eligibility Criteria, New Delhi: As we all know University of Delhi has brought something special for the students of Undergraduate by extending the date of Application to June 22 . The University of Delhi also
announced that they will bring a change in the DU Eligibility Criteria which was not accepted by the students and also the voice was risen by the parents of the DU aspirants .
The Delhi High Court has ordered the University of Delhi and also the University grants commission UGC to allow all the aspirants to apply for the Undergraduate courses in the University for the Academic Session of 2019 as per the Eligibility Criteria of the previous year.
The petitions have revealed that the students were unaware about any such change to be brought in the Eligibility Criteria.
What High court officials had to say,
“There is no dispute that you have to be in tune with the times. Nothing prevents you from improving education standards. No one is saying your decision (amendment) is not right, butyour timing may not be right” .
The Law states that before making a change in the DU Eligibility Criteria 2019 the University is supposed to give a notice before six months . The Court said :
“That the changes in eligibility criteria have to be made in accordance with law which would require a minimum of six months of public notice to the public at large”.
So as per the decision made by the court no changes will be made in the eligibility criteria now. As the date of Application has been extended simultaneously the date for the release of First Cut off has also been Postponed. Also the Cut offs this year have a new face , this year the Cut
off is expected to be high .
As the students in the CBSE 12th Boards , around 94,299 students scored more than 90 percent marks where around 17,693 students scored 95 percent. So, now you can very well imagine the competition rate.
