PwD quota in DU: Delhi University is always prompt in its news related to any college updates or providing main information. Now it has released the registrations criteria for all the people including acid attacks victims and the others. A total 1,665 people have registered under this category(PwD quota in DU admissions) on the university admission portal this year, including an acid attack victim and leprosy-cured persons and handicapped also. This decision is now creating a positive impact on people minds, in fact, it is also giving motivation to the acid attack victims and others to start their new life and to move on.
“There has been an increment of almost 10 percent in the number of registrations under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category at the Delhi University”, officials said on Sunday.

According to Bipin Tiwary from Equal Opportunity Cell of the DU “There has been an increase in the number of applications than what we have been receiving every year. By this year, there has been an increase of almost 10 percent of admissions from last year”.
The maximum applications were received under the category of locomotor disability at 480, followed by 366 from visually challenged aspirants and 226 from those with low vision.
According to the provisions of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, not less than five percent of seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.
Pwd applicants shall be given a relaxation in the course-specific eligibility in the qualifying examination and in the admission entrance test to the extent of five percent, till seats are filled.
